sunday's adventure deux

i had to pick this friend of mine up from her office in damansara heights. as she stepped into the car, i reminded her that she needed to pull her seatbelt on + behave. she gave me this wierd look. "like i don't have a valid driving licence", i went. "oh!" and so she pulled her seatbelt on + behaved.

rather effective; i see no monkey jumping in me car, i hear no hayeena laughing in me car, it's all tranquil and serene.

that's done, off we went.
as i was turning into the main road, my friend started giving direction citing roads which i was supposed to take. erk! you give me landmarks, i can picture where they are precisely + i'll get there easy. you give me road names, that's like german to me ... no i don't understand german.
jeng! jeng! jeng!

to be continued ...

sunday's adventure

i'm supposed to have gone out for lunch with cik pms but she postponed it for another 1/2 hour + so i decided to report sunday's adventure as promised to my sewel friend. for some reason friends of mine are only sewel around me. i bet if you meet them independent of me, they are all prim and proper. why ah?

anyways, last sunday i took a friend on mine on a field trip, just to teach her the art of shopping. it's easy to look gorgeous in prada + gucci or even zara + mng but to find something stunning at a fraction of the cost, that's an art in itself.

our hunting field: sungei wang plaza

for some reason, we both were going thru a patch of bad luck when it comes to mechanics + cars. hers were injured; a mechanic rammed the car into a stalled lorry. meself; the green car's timing belt was not properly done by the mechanic + the blue was not feeling too well. i told my mom her gearbox may need checking, the car is ageing, but of course, to her i'm still a minor so what do i know about cars. it could be wiring.

and so we went on our little adventure in the blue car.

to be continued ....

alamak ...

kacau daun laa sis ... i was chatting him up! (ya right) *wegra buat muka tak puas hati* :op

ok ... my mama feels that she's drop dead gorgeous that nite, so i'm supposed to post her picture here as well ... happy now, ma?

Tristan & Isolde

lock your thinking cap away + just feel - tristan & isolde, i like! despite noticing isolde reading john donne's words to tristin (she can actually travel forward in time to get 'em kata-kata lomantic. phewwwiiiittt!!!)

dzu ... please stay well away! tak kesah laa if i'm ketinggalan zaman ke or if he's your ex ke hapa, please OK!

tristan of aragon is mine!!!

hi tristan!

The Good-Morrow, John Donne

I wonder by my troth, what thou and I
Did, till we lov'd? Were we not wean'd till then,
But suck'd on country pleasures, childishly?
Or snorted we in the seven sleeper's den?
'Twas so; but this, all pleasures fancies be.
If ever any beauty I did see,
Which I desir'd, and got, 'twas but a dream of thee.

And now good morrow to our waking souls,
Which watch not one another out of fear;
For love, all love of other sights controls,
And makes one little room, an everywhere.
Let sea-discoverers to new worlds have gone,
Let maps to other, worlds on worlds have shown,
Let us possess one world, each hath one, and is one.

My face in thine eye, thine in mine appears,
And true plain hearts do in the faces rest;
Where can we find two better hemispheres,
Without sharp north, without declining west?
Whatever dies, was not mix'd equally;
If our two loves be one, or, thou and I
Love so alike, that none do slacken, none can die.

my best friends' wedding

meet allya + shazlan

i got close with them during a levels, the last 3 months of my a levels to be precise. before, the malaysians thought i was a bruneian. ada ke? there were 5 girls, allya was known as ginger spice (i was sporty spice; cool apa? izan was posh spice; uwek! :op) + shazlan was the 'band manager' being the only bloke with us, most of the time. tho that doesn't mean i like spice girls. please y'all! back then i was into kula shaker's govinda, cornershop's brimful of asha, garbage, the verve, metallica ... the likes ... oh! and all saints ... so shoot me!

anyways, we had to split for uni; allya off to cardiff, iwan-g + jess stayed in london, izan off to sydney, shazlan + myself off to manchester. sedih, such a short fling!

shazlan was my close friend at uni. he knows my good + my ugly, my adventures + my misadventures, vice versa. after my break up, i found refuge at shazlan's in manchester. the picture was taken then + they weren't going out yet; so don't worry too much about the body language. it was then i played cupid. bzzzz ... bzzzz ... bzzzz ... bzzzz ... toing! hehe!
soon they are getting married. pheeeeewwwwiiiitttttt!!!

amacam? best tak update? :op

oh! people say, a man + a woman can never be just good friends. of course we can, provided we find each other vaguely repulsive. ;o)

eh shazlan, i'm cute OK! i'm smart + i can sing like a bird! in jakarta, i'll entertain you lot OK.

la la la la la la la la la *wegra prakkkktissing the scale*

all's well that ends well ;o)

Once I was a boogie singer
Playin` in a Rock & Roll Band
I never had no problems
Burnin` down the night stands

And everything around me,
Got to stop to feelin` so low
And I decided quickly,
Yes I did
To disco down and check out the show

Yeah they were
Dancin` and singin`
and movin` to the groovin`
And just when it hit me somebody turned around and shouted
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right
Play that funky music white boy
Lay down that boogie and play that funky music till you die
Till you die ,
oh till you die

I tried to understand this
I thought that they were outta there minds
How could I be so foolish
To not See I was the one behind

So still I kept on fighting
Loosing every step by the way
I said, I must go back there
In Jackessee still the things are the same

When they were
Dancin` and singin`
and movin` to the groovin`
And just when it hit me somebody turned around and shouted
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right
Play that funky music white boy
Lay down that boogie and play that funky music till you die
Till you die,
oh till you die

SOLO

At first it wasn`t easy
Changed in Rock`n`Roll at mind
The things won`t get `n shaking
I thought I have to leave it behind

But now it`s so much better
I`m funking out and out by the way
Well, I`ll never loose that feeling
How I learned by lesson yeahea

When they were
Dancin` and singin`
and movin` to the groovin`
And just when it hit me somebody turned around and shouted
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right
Play that funky music white boy
Lay down that boogie and play that funky music till you die
Till you die,
oh till you die

That`s all
Play that funky music...
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right
Play that funky music white boy
Play that funky music right

another gem lost

wegra sedey lagi but for a different reason.
how could've i missed the news?!
upset banget guwe ...

"Aku dan kami mungkin memang bebal. Tapi para dewa, Rama Guru, pada kami tidak diberikan tanah yang cukup baik untuk kelapa."

"Puah! Sewaktu kecilku takkan ada orang menyalahkan para dewa. Tak ada penghujatan semacam itu, ... Lupakah kau pada ajaran, hewan takkan mengubah apalagi alamnya? Tetapi manusia tanpa cipta merosot, terus merosot sampai ke telapaknya sendiri, merangkak, melata, sampai jadi hewan yang tak mengubah sesuatu pun. Untuk mempunyai ekor pun manusia demikian tidak berdaya."

wegra sedey

i've been trying to figure out the behaviour of this group of people for weeks. i'm a neutral being in the whole scenario since i'm merely a flea amongst the elephants. i tried using my small voice to help iron out any probable miscomprehension but they resisted acknowledging the picture and resumed.

today i saw their politics, the politics behind it all, i feel so disguisted and embarrased.

picture fantastic

had a great weekend + am knackered ... highlights

// mission impossible iii

went to the movies with izan ... she conned the ticket staff into believing that she'd forgotten her booking number + shouted out to pinjam duit from me, i was queuing up in the orang tak buat phone/internet booking line ... ain't it obvious but we got in anyway ... the film was alright ... but my jaw dropped when i saw a lamborghini gallardo making an appearance in the vatican city scene ... dah laa colour my orangie hembeg ... sesuai ... sungguh sesuai

later, i did voluntary work at gazebo as a waitress

// cuppacakes @ wondermilk

dragged mummy-o with me to my first visit to suparrrDzu et al kedai runcit: wondermilk ... when i first step into the shop, my mind drifted to manchester's oldham street ... in particular, it's pop boutique ... + later the urbis ... i guess, that for the lomo stuff ... mummy-o went, eh? i feel like i'm abroad ... they offer a hodgepodge of quirky gift items ... interesting selections but not enough variety to make me go bonkers ... still the place i'd go for unique items ... wondermilk virgins, apa kata you peeps check them out?

their gig is in uptown, address 37 jalan ss 21/1A damansara utama ... they open office hours tho

suparrrDzu, oi! no wonder i never sampai your opis ...

// tkc visit

"hi! i'm maryam. they call me erra when i was here."

"yeah! of course, i know you. you were my senior. you were in form 5, when i was in form 1."

harks! malu nyer. on the other hand, tak sangka i'm fames. ekekekeke!

a quickie: wegra ain't wierd yo!

ti.e.na, you dig that?

Fact 1:

she gets very the jakun, overly excited and forgets her surrounding when she hears beautifully played music, brilliant crooning + detects all things beautiful to her eyes. al-akibat she selalu ram into people, pernah walk into tables, a grand piano, a pokok and just recently walked straight into a longkang.

Fact 2:

when engulfed by boredom or she feels like isolating herself from her surrounding, she’ll space out and her mind would turn into a cinema or a jukebox.

Fact 3:

secretly likes to eat McD fries with ice cream, it was fries with apple pie and ice cream during her student days.

Fact 4:

a chronic adrenaline junkie; once did 4 bungee jumps in a row, cliff jumped into the sea, love roller coasters + other adrenaline pumping rides.

Fact 5:

gasped “eiiiih! hemsemnyer mufasa!” + seriously thought mufasa of the lion king was drop dead gorgeous when she first saw him in the movies, her audible gasp made heads turn. the angau lasted for a while. ...eh! lupa. i think smeagol from lord of the rings is cute! my heart beats real fast when i see a poster of him.

Fact 6:

secretly understands cats’ emotions + likes to speak to her cats, siap bersayang2 lagi, donch jeles yo!

:op
airport apron refers to the defined area of the airport provided for the stationing of aircraft for the embarkment and disembarkment of passengers, the loading/unloading of cargo, and parking.

lcc terminal gives you a peek at airport operations in the 70s. if you're flying off from lcc terminal, get your bellbottom + peasant top on + dress to the 70s theme.

what do schoolteachers and sumo wrestlers have in common?

a note of apology to A+W Subang Jaya cleaning staff:
i'm sorry ... the kittens seemed famish.

a conversation i had yesterday evening...

friend:
what are you reading?

wegra:
freakonomics, the new f-word

friend:
huh?

wegra:
it's by this young economist; my age, harvard grad, with phd from mit. he's saying the conventional wisdom is often wrong because 'experts' bend the facts. and that economics is with brilliant tools for getting to answers but lack interesting questions. so he's throwing questions. example: which is more dangerous, a gun or a swimming pool? obviously a swimming pool. nothing new but the delivery is quite good.

*a short void*

friend:
you have to stop reading these books. if you have to read, read bimbo books. you'll just scare 'them' all away.

really?!? that's the real patriarchy scenario here?!? or is it just a pejorative presumption?!?

but... but... tho i read them books, i donch understand them... what's conventional wisdom anyway?!? :op

have a good may day; international workers day, peeps!

p.s. paging baby anisism, kindly e-mail your mobile no to shamsuddinms@gmail.com so that i can drag you to all our meet. thank you.
