Malays today are nomadic people that originated from the China as well.

The Chinese made their money before the NEP anyway. Before there was no any affirmative action. All the people like Robert Kuok and the rest of them made their money before 1957 when there was no affirmative law.

Probably it is time to take away the cane from the rich malays and give it solely to the poor ones. I am sure the nelayan and petani would appreciate the aid better.

The very reason why Malaysia has not yet to achieve a similar status like Singapore is due to the very reason that we are arguing or disputing on the malay special rights. There is just no unity among races. We manage until now is due to tolerance. And this would not get us very far.

What has become of this nation of our? Is it going to the dogs? To be fair, I don't blame it on the Pak Lah government, this all started some twenty-five years ago during Mahathir era and it has been left to rot. Twenty-two years is a long long time he ruled the country, but did he care to rectify the situation?

Umno were responsible for our Malaysia Malay, Indian and Chinese identities in their divide-and-rule policies. Racial and religious bigotry is the result of a long history of discrimination, abuse of power and lack of political and cultural space for the non-malay Malaysians.

This nonsense and tyranny has gone on for too long. Malaysians want a clean, corruption-free, transparent and just government that ensures equal rights to all Malaysians, without the current institutionalised racism and blatant discrimination.

We must educate our young on the freedom of choice and he responsibility of electing a government that truly upholds and protects the freedom of all Malaysia people through the rule of law and the constitution of Malaysia.

Any government who fails to protect the constitution and the Malaysia people could be removed from government.

The special position of the malays as prescribed under Article 153 of the Constitution is limited in scope to only the reservation of reasonable quotas in these 3 sectors: public services, educational places and business licenses.

Hence, the present rampant racial discriminations practiced on almost every facet of our national life are mostly violations of the Constitution. Examples of these violations are:

(a) Racial discrimination in the appointment and promotion of employees in publicly funded bodies, resulting in these becoming almost mono-raced bodies. These bodies include: the police, civil service, army and various semi and quasi government agencies.

(b) Imposition of compulsory share quota for malays in non-malay companies.

(c) Imposition of compulsory price discounts and quotas in favour of malays in housing projects.

(d) Completely lop-sided allocation of scholarships and seats of learning in clearly unreasonable proportions that reflect racial discriminations.

(e) Blanket barring of non-malays to publicly funded academic institutions (that should include the Mara).

(f) Barring of non-malays from tenders and contracts controlled directly or indirectly by the government.

Our Constitution provides for only one class of citizenship and all citizens are equal before the law.

The presence of Article 153 does not alter this fact, as it is meant only to protect the malays from being "squeezed" by other races by allowing the reservation of reasonable quotas on certain sectors of national life.

However, this Constitution has now been hijacked through decades of hegemony of political power by the ruling party to result in the virtual monopoly of the public sector by a single race.

The ensuing racism, corruption and corrosion of integrity of our democratic institutions have brought serious retrogression to our nation-building process in terms of national unity, morality, discipline and competitiveness of our people.

First of all, are we (the non-malays, that is) really to believe that the government will abolish or tone down the New Economic Policy in the near future? We must be realistic, if you have the right to buy a property at a discount and have scholarships for your children, would you let go of these rights?

With Chinese population dwindling in Malaysia, what needs to be done depends on the Chinese themselves.

There is nothing wrong with the brain drain. In fact, we should encourage our children to move to Singapore, Taiwan, China etc, if we disagree with Malaysian government policies that are based on race and religion.

When it comes to the matter of the dwindling number of Chinese Malaysians, we should talk about quality, not quantity.

We should resolve why the Chinese-Malaysian population is reducing. Official figures have more than one million Chinese Malaysians emigrating over the past 25 years. Why did they emigrate? I am sure the government knows.

Straight A students can't get scholarships or university places. Nothing new, it is been that way for the past 35 years. Nowadays, even enlightened malay Malaysians are speaking up on this injustice. The MCA and Gerakan? Busy making money from private colleges.

What is so great about having TAR College or Utar which took more than 35 years of begging? Why should it be so difficult to set up an independent university when we have scores of public ones?

While we push young talented people away, other countries notably Singapore, the US and Australia welcome them with open arms.

Is it logical that we drive away our young talented ones and then invite retired Mat Sallehs to live here and exploit our low-cost of living?

Singapore's success in particular owes much to these ex-Malaysians or their descendants including Hon Sui Sen, Goh Keng Swee, Goh Chok Tong, just to name a few.

About 30 percent of top management in both Singapore's government and corporate sector are ex-Malaysians. We export them so that Singapore can compete with, and then whack us.

Korea and Taiwan, both way behind us in the 70s and 80s are now way ahead. Thailand is breathing down our necks.

Sadly, there is just no integrity in the nation's leadership.

dear anon,

if you wish, lets have a one to one debate on this. face to face? i'm getting annoyed here. :o)

why? you are ignorant, yet you're arrogant.

you are wrong about the malays lineage, where we originated. how the malay race came about, do you even know? have your facts right, babes.

precisely, the chinese has made their riches well before NEP, hence NEP. NEP is only 30ish years old. how long ago did was the chinese malaysia's "race" of shopkeepers? aren't the chinese still?

i've been to dialogs on NEP with chinese businessmen, the likes of Datuk Richard Fong, Micheal Yam. they are the new breed chinese businessmen who are affected by NEP. they see the rationale of NEP and they benefited from NEP. The cake is big, dear. what's wrong with sharing?

like i said, malaysia is a young country. we are not perfect. we are too bogged down with petty stuff like who gets scholarship and who doesn't, who gets big projects and who doesn't, we loose the big picture.

my advice? work around the system, collaborate in making the nation work.

even you are pointing fingers when acknowledging other countries are racing ahead of us. and don't forget to look at yourself first, ya?

p.s. darling

my malay good friends are all working overseas. why i came back? because of my then chinese boyfriend. ironic isn't it?

p.s.s.

the British universities practice quotas as well. i think that's fair. and in the uk not every single student with straight As wanting to go to medic school could get in because of the limited space.

to be honest, i'm rather disappointed with your thinking. leave your comfort zone, step into the real world.

sorry sir, i jump read your post ... there are quotas for the Chinese to get into some SBPs for years and now MRSMs ... but the Chinese seldom came to report or respond to reject the offer ... hence, depriving other Chinese of these places. Don't blame the Malays!

I belong to one SBP alumnae so I know my facts.

Your facts are flawed, do more reading please!

i can layan this b******* siot, my short breaks go here :op

another

on the "export" of ex-malaysian to singapore. why blame the whole nation for an individual's decision? it's like saying a person is too weak to self motivate, it's his surrounding's responsibility to keep him motivated.

so, what say you to chinese diaspora and china? china is spootid for "exporting" their talents? was it not them chinese who had gone in exile because they were not in favour of china's communism approach of equal wealth distribution? if you are in favour of equal rights, i'm sure you see the point of equal wealth distribution or don't you?

*responding to racist spammer again since kepala too senget to do anything else*

i don't dispute the division of Barisan Nasional 'teams' into UMNO + MCA + MIC is racism at the highest level. but UMNO was not responsible for it, it's the legacy of British imperialist. Our mind, collectively, had been conditioned. i mean, look at you, so racist against us malays.

the malays were never racist. the malays is exactly what bangsa malaysia aspires to be.
